Chez Gergely
Gergely Madaras offers 5 concerts on Saturday afternoons, with his favourite works and a few new discoveries.
For his final season, Gergely Madaras has pulled out all the stops with a number of concertos for the OPRL principals and spectacular music for symphony orchestra. These include Beethoven's Missa solemnis, a work of monumental proportions, Berlioz's Fantastique with its nightmarish visions and dreams, Háry János's, Hungary's boastful national hero and the source of some fine folk melodies, Liszt's Dante-Symphony which pays tribute to Italy's greatest poet, and Saint-Saëns's Symphony 'for organ', grand and thrilling.
