A FLUTE ON THE ROAD

The OPRL is delighted to make its debut with Lionel Bringuier at the Festival de Pâques d'Aix-en-Provence, at the invitation of the artistic director, Renaud Capuçon. The orchestra immerses itself in Tchaikovsky's Pathétique Symphony (1893), in which the composer reveals his quest for happiness, his delicate sentimentality and his deep suffering. Joined by Emmanuel Pahud, one of the world's finest virtuoso flautists, the Orchestra and its conductor also perform the fabulous Khachaturian Flute Concerto, a work that is sometimes dramatic, sometimes exuberant, in which the composer reveals his Armenian roots.
