The 2025-26 season is unveiled !

Lionel Bringuier : A shared passion. The OPRL is proud to unveil its 2025–26 season and all the exciting new features it brings, starting, of course, with the arrival of Lionel Bringuier in Liège as the 10th Music Director of the Liège Royal Philharmonic Orchestra.
The arrival of a new Music Director is always a key moment for an orchestra and its audience. Following in the footsteps of Gergely Madaras, who lead the orchestra during six intense and fruitful seasons, Lionel Bringuier (38) brings his charismatic presence to Liège, as well as much experience from an impressive international career, from Los Angeles, where he served as Gustavo Dudamel’s assistant, to appearances with some of the world’s leading orchestras.
Guests
Bringuier describes his first encounter with the OPRL as a true “coup de cœur” and admits he already feel “at home” with the ensemble. Their musical chemistry is especially strong in the French and Russian repertoire. From the very outset, the 2025–26 season bears Bringuier’s signature, and promises top-level performances with rich and diverse programmes, and a host of distinguished guests he personally invited to Liège — including Hélène Grimaud, Gautier and Renaud Capuçon, Jean-Yves Thibaudet, and many more.
New concerts formats
To help you get acquainted with the new maestro, the OPRL is launching a new “Lionel Bringuier” series on Thursday and Friday evenings, as well as the series “Concert & Talk”: one-hour concerts followed by relaxed post-concert talk with the conductor.
The season also introduces a new series called “Modern Classical”, focusing on this new current within Classical music that is enjoying so much popularity with wide audiences. It will open with a major symphonic concert dedicated to Max Richter. Concert formats are evolving too, with a new weekday series called “Symphonic Hour”: short concerts without intermission.
A More Flexible Subscription Model
One important update: subscription options are changing! You can now subscribe during specific periods depending on how many concerts you choose, offering more freedom to build your ideal season. Full details can be found on the “Subscriptions” page of our website.
The OPRL wishes you a wonderful 2025–26 season, alongside Lionel Bringuier and the Orchestra’s musicians, who take center stage in our brand-new visual identity!
