OPRL+ Photographie : Amazônia
The Amazon rainforest, in all its vital force and its connection to man, is at the heart of an exceptional encounter between a conductor, a photographer, Sebastião Salgado, and the original compositions of Heitor Villa-Lobos and Philip Glass. Villa-Lobos's symphonic suite Floresta do Amazonas (Amazon Forest) resonates like a universal, naturalist testament, joyous and vibrant. Its evocative colours blend seamlessly, phrase by phrase, with the expressive power of Salgado's giant images (on show in Brussels this autumn). As for Philip Glass, he pays tribute to the waters of the Amazon by taking a minimalist, poetic look at various scenes from life on this green continent.
