The Organ Symphony

For its return to the Amsterdam Concertgebouw, the OPRL offers a selection of Franco-Belgian music that is part of its DNA. Starting with the picturesque ballet of Hulda , which the musicians and Gergely Madaras performed with such passion during César Franck's bicentenary. The Concerto in G, with its neo-classical accentswill find an ideal interpreter in the poet pianist Nelson Goerner. The great Organ Symphony, written in London in 1886, with the intention of "shaking the walls", has remained one of the most frequently performed French works from the repertoire, alongside Franck's Symphony, almost its exact contemporary.
