Bruckner 9

Although Bruckner's symphonic works follow in Beethoven's footsteps, he did not quite manage to leave us the same legacy as the great Ludwig: Bruckner left his Ninth Symphony unfinished, with several incomplete versions of the finale. Still written by a composer well aware of his imminent demise, what remains of the score is nothing short of marvelous. The extraordinary conductor Marko Letonja, a regular guest of the OPRL, will infuse life into the symphony, with its passionate  scherzo, framed by slow movements that sound like a final farewell to life. This is Bruckner's musical testament...
