Elori Saxl

“Building a hypnotic counterpoint between a bright chamber music ensemble and groaning analog synthesizers, composer Elori Saxl’s debut is an investigation of emotion and seasonal change.”  PITCHWORK

Elori Saxl is a composer born in 1990 and based in Brooklyn. She is known for her collaborations with prestigious institutions such as the Guggenheim Museum and the National Film Board of Canada. Joining forces with a classical trio, she creates rich soundscapes which stand somewhere between minimalism and jazz, with an unusual classical dimension. Her albums The Blue of Distance (2021) and Drifts & Surfaces (2024) have received critical acclaim, showing influences from the electronics duo Matmos, Steve Reich’s minimalism, and Philip Glass's dramatic use of harmonics. A unique universe of sounds and melodies for you to explore within the ‘Modern Classical’ series.
