La valse
A short concert featuring two masterpieces from the Classical repertoire, followed by a lively conversation on stage with Lionel Bringuier and Gautier Capuçon. This is the first in the series of concerts combined with talks with the artists: Concert & Talk. The OPRL will swirl up a tornado in La valse (1920), Ravel's sumptuous evocation of the decline of Western society between the wars, and the elegant First Cello Concerto by Saint-Saëns, a landmark piece in this instrument's revival in France in the 1870s. A moment combining intense musical emotions and friendly interaction.
