Audition for 2 tutti violas

Auditions will consist of three rounds:

First round :

1st movement (without cadenza) of a concerto of your choice between: 

STAMITZ, Viola Concerto (Peters edition) 
HOFFMEISTER, Viola concerto in D major

- One or more orchestral excerpts (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)*

Second round : 

1st movement of a concerto of your choice between: 

BARTÓK, Viola Concerto (Ed. Serly) (including lento parlando, up to a tempo moderato before the 2nd movement) 
HINDEMITH, Der Schwanendreher
WALTON, Viola Concerto

- One or more orchestral excerpts (chosen by the jury, taken from the list shown in round 3)*

Third round : 

Orchestral excerpts*

BEETHOVEN, Symphony No. 5, 2nd movement
BERLIOZ, The Roman Carnival
BRAHMS, Symphony No. 4, 3rd movement
SHOSTAKOVICH, Symphony No. 5, 1st movement
MAHLER, Symphony No. 10, 1st movement
MENDELSSOHN, A Midsummer Night's Dream, Scherzo
MOZART, The Magic Flute, Overture
RAVEL, Daphnis and Chloé
