Bach, non sei solo !
"Non sei solo". You are not alone... This evasive phrase, makes reference to the words “Sei solo” (“Six solos””) found written in the manuscript of Bach's six Sonatas and Partitas for solo violin (Sei soli), which he composed while mourning the death of his first wife Maria Barbara, in 1720. Amandine Beyer and Gli Incogniti pay a tribute to the composer, several centuries later. They have chosen to focus on the particularly-prolific years that followed this bereavement, in Köthen, when he composed most of his concertos. These precious gems of the Baroque combine instrumental virtuosity, brilliant polyphony, lively dialogue between soloists and orchestra and deep emotions. They are all unquestionable masterpieces.
