La notte
Travel has never ceased to fascinate musicians. Performers and composers have always travelled the length and breadth of Europe, discovering the music of other nations, both in cities and at court. The ensemble A nocte temporis explores this musical phenomenon of diverse encounters and influences, and invites you on a journey through England, Italy, Germany and France. With Reinoud Van Mechelen's voice in dialogue with Anna Besson's flute, the programme features a variety of works inspired by the night, from Purcell's intimate An Evening Hymn to Rameau's Boréades and Vivaldi's irresistible Concerto 'La notte' (the night). Let yourself go, and you will realise how, from one country to another, the language of music is universal.
