BACH'S LEGACY
Twenty years after his participation in the inauguration of the restored grand organ of the Salle Philharmonique de Liège, Benoît Mernier, professor of organ at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles, brings a programme of music by J.S. Bach and Romantic composers who drew inspiration from him: Mendelssohn, who was marked by the rediscovery of the St Matthew Passion; Brahms, who left his musical testament in the form of chorales for the organ; Widor, who transcribed the finale of the same Passion for organ; and Franck, who wrote a Third Choral as a tribute to J.S. Bach.
