Daphnis and Chloé
For its first concert at the Kissinger Sommer, the summer festival in Bad Kissingen (Germany), the OPRL divides its time between Slavic melancholy and the brilliance of the Mediterranean world. On this occasion, he is reunited with Lionel Bringuier, a few weeks before his official appointment as the new Music Director of the Orchestra. Together, they perform two of Ravel's works inspired by dance: the shimmering Daphnis and Chloé, a ballet set against a backdrop of ancient Greece, and the Spanish Rhapsody, which mixes flamenco, habanera and popular rhythms from Spain. Johannes Moser takes on the role of soloist in Dvořák's unique Cello Concerto, imbued with nostalgia for Bohemia.
