Liszt, Dante-Symphony

Description

After their performance of the Faust-Symphony in 2022, Gergely Madaras and the OPRL take on Franz Liszt's other orchestral monument, the Dante-Symphony, a "creation as brilliant as it is masterly" according to Wagner, the score's dedicatee. It refers to the Florentine poet Dante Alighieri, author of one of the foundations of Italian literature in the 14th century, The Divine Comedy, whose three parts directly inspired the three movements of Liszt's work.
