The brilliance of the winds
Taking on the broad repertoire of wind octets, the musicians of the OPRL invite the prestigious oboist Philippe Tondre. Trained in Paris, this exceptional musician is professor at the Curtis Institute in Philadelphia and principal oboist of the Philadelphia Orchestra (after holding similar posts in Stuttgart, Leipzig and Japan). The programme combines the classics (Mozart, Beethoven) with one of England's most respected masters, Gordon Jacob, professor of composition at the Royal College of Music in London from 1924 to 1966.
