Wagner, Siegfried and the Ring

The heroes of Germanic mythology inspired Wagner to write 16 hours of music for his Ring of the Nibelung tetralogy. In turn, Wagner inspired cartoonist Alex Alice, author of the best-selling cycle The Third Testament, to create the three-volume Siegfried comic book series (2007-2011). Under the baton of its former Music Director, Christian Arming the OPRL brings together the two versions of the epic, superimposing, 65-minute symphonic suite from the four operas (including the essential Ride of the Valkyries) created by Henk de Vlieger onto the comic strip plates, which come to life thanks to Vincent Boujon's video editing.
