Elisabeth Leonskaja
"Leonskaja has the a genius of for ‘tempo giusto’: that which is, the tempo that is born of the fusion of sound, articulation and eloquence, and which moves, fluctuates and always returns in to its own steps". (Bachtrack)
Elisabeth Leonskaja is one of the legendary pianists of our time. Heir to the great Russian musicians such as Sviatoslav Richter and Emil Gilels, she embodies the quintessence of music with her powerful playing and ethereal approach. Her sound, interpretations and touch form a perfect whole. It takes her talent to master Mozart's grace or the poetry of Schubert's last Piano Sonata (1828), a monument of piano literature.
