Description

There are many different types of string trio, depending on the instruments chosen. Xu, Ian and Paul, all principals with the OPRL, have chosen the violin-viola-cello formula. Schubert was only 19 when he wrote his Trio No. 1 in 1816, a single Allegro with a Mozartean feel, but Beethoven was "already" 28 when he impressed Haydn and his followers with the "romantic" intensity and impetuous accents of his Trio No. 5, completed in 1798.
